Oxford University- Oxford Study Abroad Program, Oxford

Through the Washington International Studies Council, OU students who wish to study at Oxford University for a semester or a year may do so as associate members of one of the constituent colleges with university privileges, and live with British students in the center of Oxford.

While this is NOT a traditional exchange partnership, Oglethorpe has arranged a special rate with Oxford so that the combination of Oxford tuition and housing is similar to what a student pays at Oglethorpe. Scholarships and loans can be applied to the costs of attending Oxford, and students studying at Oxford can select specific programs of study and participate in both academics and sports. Students completing their studies at Oxford will have their courses transferred to Oglethorpe, and the transcript will indicate study at Oxford. Studies at the colleges of Oxford range from international studies, art history, anthropology, history, English, philosophy, and other interdisciplinary fields. Course work is primarily tutorial in nature, augmented by special lectures, and an orientation in British culture.

Only students with at least junior status may participate in this program. Students may apply the semester before, in anticipation of gaining that status. A 3.2 GPA is required for both application and participation.
